This is a Program Transfer service of your existing module. You will need to remove and send your module to us using the shipping labels provided to you. We will extract the software from your defective unit and program it into one of our remanufactured units. Only the good unit will be shipped back to you. The original module is recycled here at our facility.
The order will be processed during our regular business hours (Mon-Fri 8:30 – 5:30 EST). After processing your order, we will email shipping labels and shipping instructions. If you don’t see shipping labels within 1 hour of submitting your order (during business hours) please first check your junk/spam folders. Background Information: The immobilizer system in P3 Platform Volvos is integrated into the Key, CEM, ECM, and BCM. Each of these modules contain an immobilizer encryption code. Engine start will only be permitted when the security code is matching in all 3 modules. Whenever any of these modules is replaced with a used or remanufactured part, the encryption code and the software must be transferred to the used module. This operation is only possible at our facility because the dealer’s VIDA tool can only program the encryption code in a new part.

Plug & Play: The programming from the original unit is moved over to the good used unit one for one, which means the module sent back to you is plug and play. No software reload or calibration is required.*
Quick Turnaround: Your module will be tested, transferred, tested again, and the good unit sent back to you in the same day (unless otherwise noted).
Completely Reworked PCB: All internal circuit boards are tested at the component level. Any known prone-to-failure parts that are close to the maximum tolerance are automatically replaced.
Quality Tested: All our Volvo ECMs undergo rigorous tests on our specialized custom built CAN-bus driven test bed. Functions, DTCs, and software are checked and verified for proper operation.*

*Please note in some very rare cases of software corruption there may be need for a software reload. We see this in less than 1 percent of all modules sent in.
*Please note that since this is an Engine Control Module some functions can only be tested when installed in the vehicle with a working engine, meaning testing is limited outside of the vehicle. How This Service Works
Step 1: Purchase our program transfer service online or over the phone.
Step 2: After processing your order, we will email you pre-paid shipping labels.
Step 3: Send us your old defective unit by dropping off the package to any UPS location, or call UPS to schedule a pick up.
Step 4: We will extract the software from the old defective unit, and program our remanufactured unit with the extracted software.
Step 5: We will send you back the working module the same day (unless otherwise stated), and the original unit is recycled at our facility.
Step 6: You install the unit back into your vehicle.

Why don’t you send my original module back to me?
In order to extract the software, we have to do some hardware modifications to your original module. This process is irreversible and damages the module permanently. Your unit will be recycled at our facility.
