What you need to know (please read before ordering)

This is a Fully Remanufactured Bosch Engine Control Module Replacement for your existing module. A software reload will be required once the ECM is installed in the car. This is a direct replacement for part number 8601630, which is no longer available from Volvo. If the part number on your ECM is not 8601630, this ECM will not work for your vehicle. Please refer to one of our other ECM services.

After processing your order we will ship the module to the shipping address you provided. If a core fee is applicable, there will be return labels inside the box. Please return the core to us within 30 days for a core fee refund. Please refer to our Core Policy here to ensure a full core fee refund.

The order will be processed during our regular business hours (Mon-Fri 8:30 – 5:00 EST). If the order is submitted after 4:30 PM EST it will be processed and shipped next business day.

How This Service Works

Step 4: You send us back your original module using the supplied shipping labels found in the box of your new part.
Step 5: After receiving your core, we will issue a core charge refund back to your credit card.

FAQ

Why would I need a virgin ECM?
There are many reasons for that. For example, the original is lost, damaged beyond repair, no communication, etc. Keep in mind buying a used ECM in these cases will not work, even if the unit has matching part number and software numbers. There is a unique immobilizer security code in each ECM. When a used unit is installed in the car, the engine will not start and software reload will be rejected by VIDA. Our ECM has been remanufactured fully and is prepped in such a way that will allow a software reload.
