TechTipTuesday: Brake Control Module Removal Procedure for Volvo 2002 – 2013

Today we’re featuring a step-by-step tutorial on how to safely remove your Brake Control Module (BCM) from your Volvo.

Common symptoms of a faulty BCM include: ABS warning ligh turns on, hydraulic circuit failures, pump motor failures, faulty wheel speed signals, no communication with BCM, network interference.

This tutorial applies to the following models:
2002 – 2009 S60
2002 – 2006 S80
2002 – 2007 V70, XC70
2003 – 2013 XC90

  1. I think i am clear on getting the BCM out of the car, my question is where do i get repaired. My dealers wants $1,800 just for the parts. The value of the car is much higher to me, but not to Kelly.
